Gregory Metzler

Ensemble Training Program, Introductory Ensemble Director

Gregory Metzler has been an active musician and educator in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. are for the past twenty years. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Viola Performance from Towson University, he has pursued a career in education, conducting, and performance. Mr. Metzler has been a Strings Specialist in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. 

 

A Masters Degree in Education was earned from Gratz College. He has been a conductor for the Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra, The Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra, and most recently served at the Music Director of the Hunt Valley Symphony. He has also conducted school-based orchestras, festivals, and music camps in the greater Baltimore area. Mr. Metzler has also been active as a church musician and currently serves as the Music Director and Organist at Maryland Presbyterian Church in Towson, MD. Mr. Metzler is excited to be joining the Annapolis Symphony Academy staff and is looking forward to bringing his musical experience to further the musical endeavors of this group of students.
